FCC Environment – Central Bedfordshire Food Caddy Distribution

Project Overview

KEE Environmental was commissioned by FCC Environment to carry out a large-scale distribution of food waste caddies to 47,022 individual properties across Central Bedfordshire. The project took place over a 19-working-day period between November 1, 2020, and December 11, 2020.

Project Scope

The key objectives of this project were:

Distribute 1 x 23L Outdoor Caddy & 1 x 7L Indoor Caddy to every household.

Include 2 rolls of liners & an information leaflet inside the 7L caddy.

Ensure efficient and timely delivery across a large geographical area.

Execution & Logistics

To maximise efficiency, KEE Environmental utilized an indoor facility to pre-fill the 7L caddies with liners and leaflets before distribution. This streamlined the process and allowed for seamless loading onto vehicles for delivery.

Total Caddies Distributed: 47,022 properties (November 1 – December 11, 2020)

Daily Deliveries: Approx. 2,475 per day

Team Structure: 4 teams

Vehicles Used: 3.5t low loader vans, ensuring easy access and manoeuvrability.
